We're excited to announce the UC Davis' first ever Give Day! This 29 -hour intense period of fundraising will begin at noon on Friday, April 21 to 5 p.m. Picnic Day, Saturday, April 22. The first Give Day was aligned with Picnic Day because it is UC Davis' largest event each year and is a wonderful Aggie tradition. We hope you can join us in this exciting event and look forward to your participation. Volunteer areas include:
Give Day Information Volunteer (2 hour blocks between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.)- speak to guests of Picnic Day on what Give Day is and provide general Picnic Day directional information.
Give Day Photo Booth - assist with the Give Day photo booth and taking photos with guests.
Give Day General Volunteer - assist with transportation of supplies, providing guests with information on text to give and general event duties.
Parade Participant (7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.) - Start off your morning joining us for a cup of coffee and donuts before walking
in the parade showing your Aggie Pride and holding up signage on how
others can support UC Davis on Give Day. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to participate
Things to note about the parade:
- Please note all individuals participating in the parade must submit a waiver by Friday, April 7 by 5 p.m. no exceptions (Download Waiver)
- You must arrive by 7:30 a.m. as streets around the parade close to the public. The most convenient area to park is the Quad Parking Structure near the Memorial Union (map). All participants must line up by 8:40 p.m. and opening ceremonies are scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.
- If you have accessibility issues, please note that when registering as we do have limited transportation available.
- Please remember this is a parade so there will up to two miles of walking.
All volunteers will receive a Give Day t-shirt and for those volunteering in an area that isn't the parade, a brief orientation will be scheduled approximately one week before Give Day. We will require volunteers to participate. If you are an active UC Davis employee, please seek supervisor approval for an volunteer work executed on Saturday, April 22.
