Join New York Aggies as we celebrate Picnic Day with an exciting opportunity as we bring UC Davis to New York City. Accomplished UC Davis Professor of Art, Gina Werfel will be providing UC Davis alumni, parents and friends with an exclusive tour of her exhibit of art abstract paintings that layer embedded gestures, glimpses from the studio and fragments of memory to create painted universes. Elements of collage and spray-panted stencils enhance their light and transparency.
From left to right, Swish, Underwater and Remnant are some of the works by Gina Werfel.
Werfel’s career began with an interest in plein-air landscapes, which blossomed into fluid, veiled spaces that intrigue admirers of her work. Come learn about the inspirations of her work from Singapore to Rome as well as the amazing new Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis.
