Retiree Center campus tour: Antique Ag Museum

The Antique Mechanics Club collects, restores, and displays vintage agricultural equipment, focusing mostly on tractors of all kinds. A main theme is “Celebrating Mechanical Ingenuity in Early Agriculture.” Victor Duraj of the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering (B&AE) will guide us through a selection of tractors and equipment, including the prototype UC-Blackwelder tomato harvester, a replica of an 1831 McCormick Reaper, gasoline engines from the late 1800’s, a one-horse powered baler, and he will even attempt to start a 1918 CASE 20-40 gasoline/kerosene tractor by hand.
